New**Picture of marker for Nancy Thompson Gentry in Hanging Dog Cemetery-Marker wrongly states that she was born in Roane County, Tn. She was likely born in Rowan County, North Carolina instead
because Elisha Thompson and wife Elizabeth "Betsie" Taylor Thompson were from the portion of Rowan County which later became Davie County.
The Elisha Thompson family NEVER lived in Roane County, Tn. The marker was most likely put there by
a descendant who did not realise the error caused by the mountain dialect pronounciation for ROWAN County, North Carolina. VIEW PICTURE
